Third Party Fundraisers

Third party fundraisers are events not officially sponsored or held by the Capital Area Humane Society but benefit the shelter through the donation of event proceeds. Each year many groups, clubs, classes and individuals generously sponsor third party fundraisers to benefit the animals at the Capital Area Humane Society.

Barbara McCleary - Open Studio & Benefit Show - Sat/Sun, May 3-4, 2008

Nationally recognized local painter, Barbara McCleary, will open her Okemos studio for a special showing of her art on May 3rd-4th with a 10% of her sales going to benefit the CAHS.

More than 90 original oil paintings will be available for purchase. Many new works will be featured, including a new collection of plein air paintings. Early works will be available for sale at their original lower price points.

Pounds 4 Paws - May 3 - September 3, 2008

Looking to lose a few extra pounds for the Summer? Then join Pounds 4 Paws and they "sweat through the Summer" and help the CAHS animals at the same time! Join the Club, collect pledges for the weight you lose and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the CAHS. The event runs May 3rd through September 3rd, 2008. This event is endorsed by the Govenor's Council - Physical Fitness Health & Sports.

Blessing of the Pets - Saturday, May 17, 2008

Bring your family pet to be blessed by Pastor Dave Winningham at Ascension Lutheran Church at 11:00am, Saturday, May 17, 2008. After the pets are blessed, stay and enjoy the pet costume contest and talent show (all animals attending the event are eligible to enter). Prizes donated by area pet stores will be awarded for the winners. Hot dogs, chips and drinks wil be available for purchase and a donation will be made to the CAHS.

Mid-Michigan Parrot Head Club's Annual Phun Phest - Friday, June 20, 2008

Come join the Rum Chums as they party with a purpose on Friday, June 20 from 5:00pm-11:00pm at Guerrazzis (15643 S. Business/Old US 27, DeWitt, MI). Tickets are $8.00 in advance or $10.00 the day of the concert. Tickets are available for purchase at the CAHS, Guerrazzi's, or from any Parrot Head Club member.

There will be lots of food and drink specials, prizes, raffles and more! Enjoy the music of Lansing's own Don Middlebrook and the Carribean Blue Band. Beggar's Banquet 24th Annual Golf Outing - Saturday, June 21, 2008

For anyone who enjoys a round of golf AND is a CAHS supporter- what a perfect way to spend an afternoon! Get a team together and register now the Beggar's Banquet 24th Annual Golf Outing! The event will take place Saturday, June 21, 2008 at 10:00am at the Brookshire Golf Club in Willamston. Registration is $75 per person and includes 18 holes with a cart, drink tickets, lunch, event t-shirt, fabulous prizes and dinner at Beggar's Banquet immediately following the event. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the CAHS to benefit companion animals.
