2016 Spring Break Camp - Ages 8-14    Fee: $150
CAHS is proud to present our annual spring break camp experience! Students will have the opportunity to learn about pets and wildlife, and spend tons of TLC time with the adorable pets at the shelter. There will be games, projects, and all of the fuzzy love you can handle.
April 4-8 from 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

*Before care from 8:30-9:30 a.m. and after care from 4:30-5:30 p.m. is available for an additional $50.

2016 SUMMER CAMPS

Animal Adventure Camp - Ages 8-12     Fee: $175 
This camp presents a new animal theme each day. Campers will explore pets and the animal kingdom through games, art, activities, and special visitors. Hands-on TLC time with our animals is always part of the day. *Scholarships are available.
Session 1: June 20-24 from 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Session 2: August 8-12 from 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
*Before care from 8:30-9:30 a.m. and after care from 4:30-5:30 p.m. is available for an additional $50.
 

K9 Training Workshop: Beginner-Intermediate - Ages 12-16     Fee: $175  
Teens will learn and practice positive reinforcement training techniques in this exciting, hands-on workshop. Participants will work with shelter pets in obedience, tricks, and agility. You may choose to bring your own dog for an additional $25. (All dogs must be approved, in advance, by a CAHS Behaviorist) *Scholarships are available.

Session 1: June 27-July 1 from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Session 2: July 18-July 22 from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
*Space is limited to eight trainers per session.


Pre-Veterinary Workshop - Ages 13-16     Fee: $200    
This workshop provides a unique exploration into the diverse field of veterinary medicine. Participants will work with local vets and specialists to develop some of the critical skills for an animal medical career. Teens will observe and assist in our clinic, attend a field trip to MSU's College of Veterinary Medicine, and complete a course in pet first aid and CPR. These future vets will also practice basic handling and training with a wide variety of animals. Campers must provide and wear scrub pants daily. *Scholarships are available.
Session 1: July 11-15 from 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m.


Introduction to Animal Careers - Ages 10-14     Fee: $200    
Animal lovers are provided the opportunity to explore a variety of creature careers in this fun and educational camp experience. Guest speakers, projects, and a field trip provide insight into animal-related occupations. Campers will develop valuable handling skills during TLC time with our pets. *Scholarships are available.
Session 1: July 25-29 from 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
*Before care from 8:30-9:30 a.m. and after care from 4:30-5:30 p.m. is available for an additional $50.


K9 Training Workshop: Advanced - Ages 13-16     Fee: $175    
Pre-requisite: Teens must have attended at least one session of K9 Training Workshop prior to enrollment.
CAHS is excited to present an advanced class for teen trainers. Students will delve more deeply into the world of pet behavior and training. Trainers will continue to practice and improve positive reinforcement training and special skills. They will also perform further research in body language, temperament evaluations, and breed histories to create a long-term training strategy for a shelter dog. *Scholarships are available.
Session 3: August 1-5 from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.



Jr. Explorers Pet Camp - Ages 4-8     Fee: $100    

This mini-version of our popular Adventure Camp is perfect for the first time campers & animal handlers. Explorers will learn about pets and animal safety through stories, games, art, and TLC time with our pets. *Scholarships are available.

Session 1: August 15-19 from 12-4:30 p.m.
*After care from 4:30-5:30 p.m. is available for an additional $25.

  


Bark in the Arts Camp - Ages 10-14     Fee: $200    

This creative camp examines how animals have influenced the worlds of art and pop culture. Use the CAHS pets as inspiration for your own, unique works of art. Campers will learn beginner and intermediate techniques in photography, sewing, and other disciplines. Campers must provide their own digital camera. *Scholarships are available.
Session 1: August 22-26 from 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
*Before care from 8:30-9:30 a.m. and after care from 4:30-5:30 p.m. is available for an additional $50.
