There is so much happening at the Capital Area Humane Society and in our community that is not only fun, but truly important to the success of the CAHS mission. Within our shelter and around mid-Michigan, we keep a calendar that keeps our staff and volunteers busy all year long! Our Annual Fur Ball, the Run & Walk for the Animals and our Holiday Open House are great opportunities to get involved. We are pleased to work with our media partners to help us get the word out about great news and events. At the conclusion of each year, we are exhausted - but we are also fulfilled by all that we can report to the community.

The 2008 Run & Walk for the Animals will be held Saturday, September 27 at Fitzgerald Park in Grand Ledge. Packs are forming now, so find at least four friends and get started on raising the pack goal of $500 or more. Great incentives and prizes will be awarded at many levels and don't forget that the highest fundraising pack will win the coveted Soldan's Cup! Along with your pack name on the large Soldan's Cup that is on display at the Capital Area Humane Society, your pack will take home a smaller version of the cup to keep. You will also take home the winning prize package loaded with perks, including special access to the VIP tent at next year's event complete with massages, breakfast goodies and more!

The festivities began at 5:30pm with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. The night continued with the ever popular Silent Auction, a delicious gourmet dinner, the always exciting Live Auction and the entertaining Pampered Pooch Parade....guests then danced the night away to the music of the Ken Fourn Orchestra until the evening (unfortunately!!) came to an end.
