Class Schedule

Obedience classes are held once a week for six weeks.  Cost: $95  (With Student or Senior discount: Cost $75). Class size is limited and pre-registration is required. Payment must accompany your registration form.  Classes are held at the Capital Area Humane Society, 7095 W. Grand River Ave., Lansing, MI 48906.

Pet Therapy Prep: By Appointment Only

One 45-minute session to prepare you and your dog to become pet therapy volunteers.
Instructor: Julia Palmer
Fee: $35 for 1 45-minute session

Equipment for Classes:

Please have a flat, nylon, leather or head collar. Bring a six-foot nylon or leather leash (no retractable or chain leashes). Be sure to bring ample tasty treats for your dog.

  
Behavior Hotline

Pet owners can call for assistance with pet behavior questions. This is a free service offered to the public to help reduce animal surrenders and keep pets in their homes. Our staff gives advice to over 1,000 callers annually on questions ranging from basic manners and fearful behavior to cat litter box training. Assistance on a host of pet care and training issues is also available on our website. Contact (517) 626-6821, ext. 41 or behavior@cahs-lansing.org with questions or concerns.
