Giving Opportunties

The Capital Area Humane Society offers several giving opportunities for individuals who wish to support the shelter’s mission to promote the humane treatment of companion animals through protection, placement, education and example.

Please call (517) 626-6821 ext.11 or email advancement@cahs-lansing.org with any questions regarding donation options or to request a Giving Opportunities brochure.

Events

Events are a fun way to raise money, but much of our annual operating budget is made up of gifts made each year, quarterly and even monthly by individual donors! Have you said hello lately? We invite every member of the CAHS family to join us at the Fur Ball, Run & Walk for the Animals and our Holiday Open House.

Capital Area United Way
Capital Area United Way provides residents of Ingham, Clinton and N.E. Eaton Counties with a community system for charitable giving.

Capital Area United Way's workplace fundraising campaign provides employees the opportunity to combine all their charitable donations in one annual gift.  Many employees find payroll deduction an easy way to accomplish their charitable goals.

Contributors have the opportunity to support essential health and human service needs by giving undesignated gifts or designating to agencies that are Partners or Participants in the campaign.  In addition, contributors can designate all or part of their gift to any 501(c)(3) tax exempt agency of their choice, whether that agency is a participant or not.

Annual Giving Clubs

Membership in one of the shelter’s Annual Giving Clubs is a wonderful way to provide on-going support for the CAHS mission. All donors who annually contribute $25 or more will receive our Paw Prints newsletter, which is distributed three times per year.
Individuals who commit to a 3 or 5 year pledge of support to the CAHS are distinguished with a special designation whenever they are recognized.

Memorial gifts and honorariums provide an opportunity
to make a gift in the name of a person or pet, living or passed. Family members or other specified party are notified of the gift. In addition, several commemorative options are available.

Planned Giving

The Rescuer Club recognizes supporters who provide loving care and protection for future shelter animals by making a planned gift. Provisions for a future gift may be made through several planned giving instruments.

Donors who have documented this intent with the CAHS are recognized as a member of the Rescuer Club on the donor wall. When a gift is realized, recognition is then given to the donor (unless specified otherwise) via listing at the appropriate lifetime giving level for perpetuity.
