Car washes, bake sales, garage sales, pop can collections, food or toy drives, and read-a-thons are some examples of third-party fundraisers groups have held to raise money for the animals. Girl Scouts have dedicated their cookie money and big-hearted children ask birthday party guests to brings toys and treats as gifts. Businesses donate a percentage of sales during the holidays or sell Bones for a Buck. Animal lovers find many creative ways to help.
Promotional materials should clarify that your group is holding the event and that proceeds will be donated to the Capital Area Humane Society.
Please call us for advice, to display promotional material at the shelter, to visit with your group and to say thank you. Upon your request, we may also be able to schedule a staff member to attend your event with an animal.
